Jon Gerediaga holds a PhD in Cultural Anthropology, is a professor of Philosophy and the author of several collections of poems, originally published in Basque and translated into Spanish by the author himself.
During his residency at Azkuna Zentroa he has carried out a field work in dialogue and co-existence with local creators resulting in two literary essays.
The first one, “Nombre y ser: sobre la palabra poética” (Name and being: on the poetic word), captures his reflections on the word “poetic” in an attempt to better understand its intricacies.
The second, “Poiesia: manifestaciones de la razón poética” (Poiesia: manifestations of poetic reason), focuses on the logos or poetic reason, that is, the universal human power of creativity, through contact with artists and the observation of their work.
In AZzabalik, Jon Gerediaga presents a public reading of the preamble of both writings entitled “Un prólogo para dos bibliotecas: la palabra poética y la razón poética” (A prologue for two libraries: the poetic word and poetic reason).
