As a product designer, Pilar Morquillas Azpiazu prioritises the conceptual approach in all her pieces and understands aesthetics and design as the form in which ideas or concepts are embodied. Her proposals are similarly characterised by the space they offer for interaction and self-expression. In this sense, she endeavours to propose bidirectional editions amongst the product and use experience of each person.
Her conceptual approach makes the pieces which she proposes fit particularly well in museums and art centres. Worth mentioning among these are the editions in collaboration with the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, the Royal Palace, the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao, Azkuna Zentroa or the Balenciaga Museum.
She was awarded the 2014 Elle Talent Project Prize and a Special German Design Award 2021.
